Bobby Solo

Bobby Solo (born Roberto Satti, born March 18, 1945 in Rome ) is an Italian pop singer.

Life

Solo was already with his first singles, Ora Che Be Gia Una Donna è and Blue Blue in 1963 for teen idol in Italy. The " Italian Elvis" took part in the Festival di Sanremo 1964 Una lacrima sul entitled viso part; due to laryngitis only a playback was played, which was prohibited at that time and after which he was disqualified. The song became an international hit; with Se piangi, se ridi he won the following year the festival and was fifth at the Euro Vision Song Contest. In 1969, he won (together with Iva Zanicchi ) again the San Remo Festival with the title Zingara. Some of his songs have been utilized as a film melodies, several of them for spaghetti westerns; smaller roles were played by him.

Solo played a also a number of German sung hit. After a career slump in the 1970s, he celebrated a comeback in 1978, which lasted until the beginning of the new millennium with mild success.
