Bobby Unser

Robert William " Bobby " Our ( born February 20, 1934 in Colorado Springs, Colorado ) is a retired American automobile racing driver.

Bobby Unser began in 1949 with the racing. In 1957, he became the first winner of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, which he still could win twelve more times during his career. In 1963 he drove for the first time the 500 miles of Indianapolis and finished at the end of the race 33rd place. His first victory in the 500 miles of Indianapolis, he scored in 1968. Two more successes in Indianapolis he succeeded in 1975 and 1981. He is next to Rick Mears, the only driver who won this race in three different decades. In 1975 he was the winner of the race series International Race of Champions, where he won two of the four races held. In the years 1968 and 1974 he won the American USAC National Championship.

In 1990 he was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Bobby Unser comes from a well-known racing family. His brother Al Unser is with four wins in the 500 miles of Indianapolis, one of the most successful driver in the history of this race and his nephew Al Unser Jr. won the 500 miles twice. His son Robby was also our Indycar driver was there but not as successful as his father.
