Bobby Wilson (tennis)

Robert Keith "Bobby" Wilson ( born November 22, 1935 in Hendon ) is a former British tennis player.

1952 Wilson won the Junior field of Wimbledon. In 1960, he lost at the same place, but this time as a player, along with his compatriot Mike Davies in the doubles competition against the Mexicans Rafael Osuna and the American Dennis Ralston in three sets 7:5, 6:3 and 10:8. In individual he reached both at Wimbledon, as well as at Roland Garros and the U.S. Open several times the quarterfinals.

Between 1955 and 1968, Wilson played 34 matches for the British Davis Cup team, which makes him a British record player. He won 16 of his 28 singles matches and 25 of his 33 doubles matches. With these 25 victories, he is therefore also the most successful British doubles player. With eleven common victories on the side of Mike Sangster, the two also form the most successful doubles pair of Brits in the Davis Cup.
