Bobenheim am Berg

Bobenheim am Berg is a municipality in the district of Bad Durkheim in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Freinsheim. Bobenheim am Berg is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

The municipality is located on the northeastern edge of the Palatinate Forest and is part of the Rhine -Neckar. Striking elevations on boundaries of the community are the north-west flank of the central mountain ( 400 m) and at the house ( 361 m). Neighboring municipalities are - clockwise - Kleinkarlbach, Kirchheim on the wine route, way home on the mountain, and Altleiningen Battenberg (Pfalz ).

History

The place belonged to the manor Hard castle and has a shared history with this. In 1214 the monastery had Höningen goods in Bobenheim, in a document from 1245, Pope Innocent IV this property. Wonderful country, the village belonged to the Counts of Leiningen, the last line of Leiningen- Dabo - Hard castle.

After 1792 French revolutionary troops occupied the region and annexed after the peace of Campo Formio (1797 ). From 1798 to 1814 the village belonged to the French department of Thunder Mountain and was assigned to the Canton Green city. Taken in response to the Congress of Vienna (1815 ) Agreements and a barter agreement with Austria the region came in 1816 with the Kingdom of Bavaria. Under the Bavarian administration, the Canton affiliations were usually maintained, the community Bobenheim on the mountain was off and incorporated as only from the Canton Green City in the now Bavarian State Durkheim. This Bobenheim came on the mountain 1818 Country Commissioner Neustadt in the Rhine district.

Since 1946, the municipality located in Rhineland -Palatinate, in 1969, she was assigned to the district of Bad Durkheim and since 1972 belongs administratively to the municipality Freinsheim.

Religion

July 31, 2012 40.4 percent of the population Protestant and 28.2 percent were Catholic. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were. Catholics belong to the diocese of Speyer, the Evangelical Lutheran Church for Protestant Palatinate.

The blazon of the arms is: " In gold, a black district characters ."

It was approved in 1983 by the district government Neustadt and goes back to a court seal from 1714.

Culture and sights

Every year on the second weekend in August the church fete is celebrated and on the first Advent weekend is the Bobenheimer Belzenickelmarkt instead.
