Bobo (singer)

Bobo In White Wooden Houses is a German indie rock band around singer " Bobo ( lina ) ".

Band History

Christiane Hebold (born 1967 ), called " Bobo " (also " Bobolina "), a clergyman's daughter from Graefenhainichen, founded 13 years ago a girl band. Later she studied at the Weimar Academy of Music singing and wrote her first own songs. In 1990 she learned in Berlin guitarist Frank Heise know and founded with him the band Bobo In White Wooden Houses. Not only their first single Hole in Heaven was a success, even the song Wide awake helped the band in 1990 to win the Leipzig rock competition, the band took the first of the East German indie scene in Communist Era foot. The three recordings Bobo in White Wooden Houses (1992 ), Passing Stranger (1993) and Cosmic Ceiling ( 1995) were published. The band not only achieved high sales, but also the nomination as a German contribution (Video Travel In My Mind ) at the MTV Euro Video Grand Prix 1995 - a kind of counter-event to be held at the same time Euro Vision Song Contest.

With the suicide Frank Heise (1995 ) replaced the original members of the band, and Bobolina devoted himself especially her daughter Flora Camille and several solo projects. 2004 Bobo In White Wooden Houses entered into a new cast together again. 2010 played Bobolina, Alex " Lexa " Shepherd, the new guitarist and producer Jan Stolterfoht as well as the new drummer Christian Kohler a new album Transparent. As a guest on one song acted on drums former member Andrew McGuiness.
