Boca Juniors de Cali

Club Atlético Boca Juniors de Cali is a former football club based in the Colombian city of Cali.

History

Boca Juniors de Cali was founded in 1937 and took the first time in 1949 at the first Colombian football league. The club colors and the shirt were the same colors of the Argentine club Boca Juniors.

Boca Juniors de Cali was one of the most important teams during the so-called golden age of Colombian football from 1949 to 1953. Team reached twice the second place in the Colombian league and won the first two sweeps of the cup competition.

The club was disbanded in 1957 because of the economic situation, as in many Colombian clubs of the decade was difficult after the end of the golden age.

Presence

Today Boca Juniors de Cali exists as a football school, which was founded in 1987. The director, Ángel Hernando, is also owner of the clubs Deportes Quindio and Universitario Popayan. The head of the school is in Cali. But it also has branches in Palmira, Buenaventura and Puerto Tejada. The youth teams will play in the highest regional leagues and amateur team participates in regional tournaments in the Valle del Cauca.

Stadium

Boca Juniors de Cali wore out its home games at the Estadio Olimpico Pascual Guerrero, which has a capacity of about 37,000 spectators.
