Geography

Geographical location

Bodelshausen lies south of the Protected Landscape Area Rammert. At the southeast entrance to the village of Bodelshausen located near the federal road 27 of Butzensee. A little further north is the 1997 designated nature reserve Altwiesen, whereas the southeast, nature reserve Winterhalde only a small area fraction of 0.9 ha belongs to Bodelshausen.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the village Bodelshausen, the hamlet of Oberhausen and relocated farms Birkenhof and Burgstallhof.

Within the area are the disposed, now defunct towns Old Dick Willingen, Ebenshausen, Herma things and Schönrain.

History

The village was first mentioned in deeds of gift of the monastery Hirsau as Bodolshusen around the year 1100, as a count of Egilolff Pfullingen the monastery two Huben ( Low German " hooves " ) to " Bodolshusen " donated land. Presumably, however, the beginnings go back to the 7th or 8th century, what is confirmed by grave finds in today's town center. The word ending in " - husen " or " live " re-enforces this. Mid-11th century the village belonged to the county Zollern. Later split from these Counts of Hohenberg from that owned the place until its demise in 1381. Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

By Bodelshausen leads the Zollernalb railway, which runs from Tübingen Hechingen, Balingen, Albstadt Sigmaringen and up to Aulendorf.

The L 389 connects the town to the west of Rottenburg am Neckar and on the east by the federal highway 27 in Tübingen and Stuttgart in the north, as well as Balingen and Rottweil in the south.

Economy

The town's economy is dominated by the textile industry. If a large number of firms no longer exists due to the textile crisis, there are still some brands to find locally. Among other things, the Company Marccain and Speidel.

Public institutions

From 1983 to 2011, the Federal Office for the family and civic duties maintained a civil service school in Bodelshausen.

Oil pipeline and tank storage

In the woods north of Bodelshausen ( in Rammert ) is a storage tank of NATO and an attached oil pipeline to Kehl. This has been criticized in the past several times of peace initiatives and environmentalists. In 1990, the pipeline and the tank farm was shut down in 2006, the plant was put into operation again.
