Boeing Canada

Boeing Canada is a subsidiary of the U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing, headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The plant is located in the 99 Murray Park Road. The company was founded in 1971 and employs 1,900 people.

History

Boeing Canada was founded in 1971 initially with about 50 employees. At that time the largest Canadian airline Air Canada Boeing 747 jumbo bought machines and also the Canadian government ordered a number of military aircraft of type Boeing 707 Boeing decided shortly afterwards to open a factory for aircraft parts in Winnipeg. The speakers were many reasons for this. Firstly, Winnipeg could produce well-trained staff, to the central position of Winnipeg, and the long tradition of aircraft servicing and maintenance back to 1930. Boeing Canada opened in 1971, the first production line for Boeing 747 wing parts. The former production area was approximately 6500 m². Over time, the production area was increased due to additional production to around 69 677 m² at three locations in the city. In March 2010, Boeing Canada finished the modernization of 80 combat aircraft of the Canadian Forces of the type CF-18 with modern avionics and other systems. On April 23, 2013, the expansion of the production plant of Boeing was announced. According to the production area of ​​48,000 m2 to over 62.000m2.
