Boeing X-40

The Boeing X -40 Space Maneuver Vehicle was part of the X -37 project to develop a reusable space vehicle. 2001, the flight characteristics of the peculiar aircraft with wide-body and small wings were tested in a model with 85% of its original size. In this test also the Honeywell control system was tested. On March 14, 2001 was the first successful landing of a X -40, when launched from a Boeing Vertol CH -47 -, in California.
