The Boğaziçi Üniversitesi ( German: Bosphorus University ) in Istanbul is a university based in the European part of Istanbul, near the Bosphorus. The Bosphorus University was founded in 1971 on the foundation of Robert College and is today one of the leading state universities in Turkey. Only the top 1 % of Turkish high school graduates are accepted at the Bosphorus University. The language of instruction is English.
