Bogdan Klich

Bogdan Klich ( born May 8, 1960 in Kraków ) is a Polish politician. From November 16 2007 to July 29, 2011, he was a Polish defense minister.

Bogdan Klich is a medical doctor and graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, a study of art history. He was already in the 1970s, the Polish opposition movement and was a member of NZS. During the martial law in Poland in the early 1980s he was interned. 1999/2000 he was appointed Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek as deputy defense minister. In this role he was responsible for the Polish contacts with NATO. He was elected for the constituency in Krakow, the Polish Sejm in 2001. He remained until 2004 Member of the Polish Parliament. His mandate, he resigned when he was elected to the European Parliament for the Civic Platform in 2004. There he was a member until 16 November 2007, the Group of the European People's Party. Bogdan Klich is a specialist in international politics. From 1989 to 1999 he was an advisor to the Polish government for relations with the European Union. He is also a lecturer in European Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and author of numerous publications on foreign policy and international security.
