Bogdan Zdrojewski

Bogdan Zdrojewski ( born May 18, 1957 in Kłodzko ) is a Polish politician. Since 16 November 2007 he has been Minister of Culture and National Heritage in the government of Donald Tusk.

Life

From 1964 to 1972 attended Bogdan Zdrojewski the Adam Mickiewicz Primary School No. 1 in Kłodzko. Then he went to his hometown to professional school ( Liceum zawodowe ) before his family in 1975 to Breslau ( Wrocław) moved and he attended the local grammar school career No. 4. From 1976, he was then employed by the state railway company Polskie Koleje Państwowe, first as a junior engineer in the railway station Wrocław Brochów from 1976 to 1977 as a civil servant ( Adiunkt Kolei PANSTWOWYCH ). 1977 to 1979 he studied business administration in 1978, he began a technical school training as a photographer, but these broke in 1979. 1979 to 1983 he studied at the University of Breslau, which he left with a master's degree in philosophy. 1982, during his studies, he married, and the following year his daughter was born, in 1984, his son. Also in 1982 he became a member of the Independent Students Association ( Niezależne Zrzeszenie Studentów ) and remained so until 1984. 1983 to 1989 he was an employee at the Department of Sociology and Community Policy at the University of Economics Wrocław ( Akademia Ekonomiczna we Wrocławiu ). In 1982, he began his academic studies, from which he graduated in 1987 with a Master's ( mgr Kulturoznawstwa ). In 1985, he had to stop this activity for his military service he rendered at Kędzierzyn -Koźle in an artillery division. In 1989 he moved within the Wrocław University at the Institute of Sociology. In 1990, he began a doctoral program and was on 4 June 1990 Chairman of Wrocław. This he remained until September 1, 2001. Parallel, he was from 1990 to 2001 Member of the Municipal Council, 1994-1997 Member of the Supervisory Board of Kredyt Bank SA and 1997-2000 Senator of Poland. In 2001 he received a seat in the Sejm and moved in the following election periods back in the Sejm. 2003 to 2005 he was also managing director of Thyssen Polska. On 5 December 2006, he was Chairman of the Group of the Civic Platform ( Platforma Obywatelska ) in the Sejm. In the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2007, he received 213 883 votes in his electoral district Breslau. On 16 November 2007 he was sworn in as Minister of Culture.

One of the hobbies of Bogdan Zdrojewski heard the shooting, he has his pictures presented at various exhibitions.

Awards

Bogdan Zdrojewski was honored by Pope John Paul II with the Order of St. Silvester. The German Federal President awarded him the Order of Merit, First Class.
