Boghos Yousefian

Boghos Bey Yusufian (* 1775 in Smyrna, † 1844) was a commercial and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Muhammad Ali Pasha.

Life

His parents were Mart'a and Hovsep, an Armenian merchant from Kayseri, who had settled in Smyrna. With his brother Bedros Boghos Yusufian Bey was in the house and office of her uncle Arakel Abroyan, the dragoman of the British Consulate in Izmir, is formed. Arakel Abroyan gave the post of dragoman to Boghos on. Bedros Yusufian initiated a trading house based in Trieste. In the 1790s Boghos was Bey Yusufian customs officer of Murad Bey Muhammad in the Egyptian rosette. Under Wali Muhammad Ali Pasha El Kebir he was trade and foreign minister.
