Bògòlanfini

(Made mud cloth, with mud ) Bogolan is the product of an African weaving and dyeing, which is native to Mali.

Bogolan are coarse textured and hand-woven cotton strips that are about ten to 15 centimeters wide and are sewn together. Traditionally, cotton strips are woven by men.

The ornate patterns are of women produced by repeated application of sludge and juice, which is obtained from both leaves and bark. The dyeing process is extremely time consuming, which makes the product a very sought after item. Bogolan has become an internationally recognized symbol African style.
