Bogotá Museum of Modern Art

The Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá, short MAMBO, ( German: Museum of Modern Art, Bogotá ) was founded in 1953 by the art critic Marta Traba and 1957 again transformed by it. The seat of the museum changed several times. Currently it is located on Calle 24 N º 6 - 00 Since 1985, the house has an area of 5,000 square meters which is spread over four floors. It is headed by Gloria Zea since 1969.

The museum has a large collection of contemporary art. Among other works by Fernando Botero, Enrique Grau, David Manzur, Ana Mercedes Hoyos, Eduardo Ramírez Villamizar, Edgar Negret, María de la Paz Jaramillo. The museum also offers training and video art events.
