Bogota is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, USA with about 8000 inhabitants. The city's name is a portmanteau word, which is composed of the name of the first two families, who settled in the late 19th century here: Bogert and Banta, connected by a O. In contrast to the name of the Colombian capital, with which this Location has nothing to do, the place name is stressed on the second syllable: Bogota.

Geography
