Bogus (film)

Bogus is an American comedy film directed by Norman Jewison from the year 1996.

Action

Lorraine Franklin is an artist of the circus ensembles Circus Phantastique. It educates alone the seven year-old son Albert, which her colleague Antoine replaces the father.

As Lorraine dies in an accident, Harriet Franklin, Lorraine's adoptive sister, Albert takes over education. Harriet is living in New Jersey Business woman copes not good with children. Albert would actually much rather stay with the circus troupe and makes it Harriet with his repellent behavior even harder. While Albert rather sulkily sitting on the plane and draws, his image suddenly begins to talk to him. Gradually develops from the image of the adult Frenchman Bogus. The big man with the big nose and the long coat is Albert with advice and act to the side and makes him so life a little easier. However, Albert is the only one who can see and hear Bogus. Harriet and Albert's new teacher make soon worry because Albert "apparently" talks to itself. As the film progresses Albert begins to accept Harriet, and Harriet again remembers back to it as it was like to be a child. At the end of visit Harriet and Albert together the grave of Albert's mother. Bogus looks on from a distance and declares that the children always just forget him as soon as they are happy again, so no longer need it. However, this is a good thing.

Reviews

The lexicon of international film wrote the script is superficial, the director was unimaginative. The playfulness of Haley Joel Osment will be remembered.

Whoopi Goldberg was nominated in 1997 for the Razzie. The film and Haley Joel Osment was nominated in 1997 for the Young Artist Award.

Filmed in New Jersey, Las Vegas and Toronto film cost about 32 million U.S. dollars. He brought $ 4.4 million at the U.S. box office.
