Bohdan Bondarenko (Ukrainian Богдан Бондаренко; born August 30, 1989 in Kharkiv ) is a Ukrainian high jumper. His greatest achievement is the victory at the World Athletics Championships 2013 in Moscow. With 2.41 meters, it is # 3 on the eternal world leaderboard.

Career

His first international success came Bondarenko in 2006, when he won the bronze medal at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Beijing with 2.26 m. Two years later he was in Bydgoszcz with the same height Junior World Champion.

In 2011 he won in the U23 European Athletics Championships in Ostrava with skipped 2.30 m and at the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen.

In 2012 Bondarenko finished at the Olympic Games in London with 2.29 m the 7th Place.

2013 presented Bondarenko at the Athlétissima in Lausanne with 2.41 m, a new personal best. This height he confirmed at the World Championships in Moscow, thus securing the gold medal. Then he failed just short of the world record height of 2.46 m.
