Boiensdorf

Boiensdorf is a municipality in the northeast of the county Northwest in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern. The community is managed by the Office Neuburg, located in the municipality of the same name.

Geography

Boiensdorf is located north of the city of Wismar, the township is part of the Boiensdorfer Werder peninsula that extends about a kilometer in the Mecklenburg Bight of the Baltic Sea. The peninsula separates the salt lagoon from the Strait of Zaufe. Opposite the Peninsula are the islands of Poel and Langenwerder and to the north the Wustrow peninsula.

The 1200 meters from the coast crowd mountain is 54 meters above sea level, the highest elevation in the coastal area between Wismar and Rerik.

To Boiensdorf include the districts Niendorf, Stove and Werder.

History

As Boydwinesdorf the place in 1262 first appears in a document.

  • Dutch mill in the district Stove (built 1889) - Open -functioning technical monument and visitors all year round.

Economy and infrastructure

In addition to agriculture and fisheries several small companies dominate the community. The tourism sector is represented by the campsite on the Boiensdorfer Werder, dining options and pensions.

Transport links

The municipality is located on the east, parallel to the B 105 extending connecting road from Wismar to Neubukow. In Neubukow eight kilometers away is following the railway line Wismar -Rostock.
