Boissevain, Manitoba

Boissevain is a town in the Canadian province of Manitoba, bordering the U.S. / Canadian border from North Dakota. In the small town of about 1500 people. The small town is known for its International Peace Garden as well as for their artistic drawings on several buildings. The town was named after Adolphe Boissevain, which was instrumental in the financing of the Canadian Pacific Railway.

Boissevain is located near the Turtle Mountain Provincial Park, where every summer the turtles race " International Turtle Derby " takes place. As a mascot for the race and also the city there is " Tommy the Turtle ", the 28 -foot statue of a painted turtle which holds a Canadian and an American flag in his hands.

Within a radius of 50 km of the town live 15,000 people. In the city there is a radio station ( CRJB ), which is operated by Golden West Broadcasting.
