Bojan Zulfikarpašić

Bojan Zulfikarpašić, ( born February 2, 1968 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian jazz pianist.

Life

At the age of five years Bojan started playing the piano. In 1986 he studied for three months Clare Fischer at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan (USA). In 1988 he moved from the Yugoslav army orchestra to Paris. He played with Akchoté Noël, Julien Lourau, Magic Malik in Marc Buronfosse Quartet and in Azur Quartet with Henri Texier and Michel Portal.

In 1993 he created his first project, Bojan Z Quartet. In 1995 he recorded his first solo album at Amiens Jazz Festival ( Quartet ). In 1999, he launched the world music project Koreni with Vlatko Stefanovski, Predrag revisin and Vojin Draskoci. In 2000, he played a solo album Solobsession; in a trio with Scott Colley and Nasheet Waits increased in 2003 on the album Trans Pacific. He is known particularly in France, where he also received prestigious awards ( awarded the Knight's Order of Arts by the French government in 2002 Prix Django Reinhardt the French Académie du Jazz ).
