Bolat Zhamishev

Bolat Bidachmetowitsch Schamischew (Russian Болат Бидахметович Жамишев; born June 28, 1957 in Altyn Emel -, Almaty region ) is a Kazakh politician and since November 2007 Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Life

Bolat Bidachmetowitsch Schamischew was born on June 28, 1957 in the village of Altyn- Emel in Almaty area. In 1974 he entered the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Economy and Organization of Agro Industrial Complex to work. In 1981 he graduated at the Kazakh Agricultural Institute. In 1993 he worked for the Kazakh National Bank. From 1997 to 1999 he was Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection before was from 1999 to 2001 and from 2002 to 2003 Vice - Minister of Finance. In the meantime, he was also Vice - Minister of the Interior of Kazakhstan.

From 2003 to 2004 he held the position of Deputy Chairman National Bank of Kazakhstan. Then Schamischew became Deputy Chairman of the Agency for supervision of the financial market.

In 2006 and 2007 he was Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Eurasian Development Bank. Since 13 November 2007 he led by Prime Minister Karim Mässimow the Office of the Kazakh Finance.
