Boleslav Jablonský

Boleslav Jablonský (actually Karel Eugen Tupý, Monastery name Eugen, born January 14, 1813 in Kardašova Řečice, † February 27, 1881 in Zwierzyniec in Krakow ) was a Czech poet.

Life

After attending high school in Neuhaus Jablonský studied philosophy and theology in Prague, joined the Strahov Monastery and in 1847 dean of the Premonstratensian monastery in Krakow, where he died in February 1881. Jablonský was buried in the Prague Cemetery Vysehrad Castle.

Work and significance

Jablonský was one of the most popular Czech poet in the 19th century, whose love songs ( písně milosti ) found particularly wide distribution, were also composed many cases. Also, a didactic poem: Solomon or The Father's (Solomon Neboli Moudrost otcova ) wisdom, Jablonský wrote. A complete edition of his poems ( Básně ) appeared in 5th edition ( Prague 1872).
