Bolji život

Bolji život ( German A Better Life ) is a Yugoslav television series about a family from Belgrade. The show is a mix of drama and comedy. It was produced by the Yugoslav television station Radio Television Belgrade. It is one of the most successful series of Yugoslavia.

History

Bolji život was first broadcast on Saturday, 10 January 1987. The series started with the specially composed song for the series " Bolji život ". It was written by Ljubisa Bacic, composed by Voki Kostic and sung by Dado Topić. The song was very popular in the former Yugoslavia.

The finale of the first season, which aired on June 6, 1987, brought a huge television ratings.

Action

The show tells about the life of Popadić family. The series works through the struggles and the adaptation of the post- Tito Yugoslavia.

The head of the family, Dragiša Popadić, is in his fifties and works in a government legal department. He is also a member of the Communist Party. His sophisticated and beautiful woman Emilija Konstantinović, who comes from a wealthy family, Latin teaches at a high school. They have three adult children, all of whom still live with their parents.

When the series begins, is the eldest son Saša, a law school graduate but unemployed. The daughter Violeta seeks a career in the theater. And son Boba working towards a high school, but has major problems at school. The marriage of Dragiša and Emilija is also in turmoil.
