An old Moor designation; so for example, the Venner Moor was called at Ottmarsbocholt in the 19th century stronghold Moor. Immediately adjacent to the Boll Moor is located in Glandorf in the diocese of Osnabrück the house Bollen, seat of the family Von Furstenberg. Also in Rinkerode the Court Höckesfeld in Eickenbeck there is a hall named Bollen, who was formerly wet and boggy because of Ortsteins occurring there.
