Bollinger County, Missouri

The Bollinger County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. In 2010, the County had 12,363 inhabitants and a population density of 7.7 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Marble Hill.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme southeast of Missouri, about 40 km from both Illinois and Kentucky is in the northeast and east away and has an area of 1609 square kilometers, of which one square kilometers of water surface. At the Bollinger County borders the following Nachbarcountys:

History

The Bollinger County was formed on March 1, 1851 from parts of Cape Girardeau County, Stoddard County and Wayne County. It was named after Colonel George F. Bollinger (1770-1842), an early settler in the area.

Demographic data
