Bollmora

Bollmora is a settlement in the Swedish Stockholm County and the capital of the municipality Tyresö. Bollmora counts for Tätort Stockholm, a Swedish term for an urban area, which is characterized by a continuous development of adjacent settlements. In 2012 Bollmora had 15 603 inhabitants.

History

Bollmora was originally a manor, to the which a village up in the 1950s. The rapid recovery took place in the 1960s after a law ( Lex Bollmora ) had been adopted, the real estate companies of a municipality allowed to build in another municipality. Stockholm companies started out with the construction of new residential areas. 1992 indoor mall ( Tyresö Centrum) was inaugurated with a library and other cultural institutions.
