Bölþorn

Bölthorn, Old Norse Bǫlþorn, spike of destruction, damage thorn, thorn misfortune ', is a giant ( jötunn ) Norse mythology.

After the song Havamal from the Poetic Edda, he had a daughter named Bestla and a son whose name is not given, from which Odin learned nine powerful rune magic songs. The Prose Edda is apparent that the frost giant was the grandfather of Odin, because Bestla became the wife of stock market and begat with this the Asengötter Odin, Vili and Ve.

It is sometimes represented in the research, the unknown son Bölthorns was Mimir having regard to its Runenkundigkeit, but this view is the absence of other evidence, a mere conjecture.
