Bolozon
Bolozon is a small French village with 636 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Ain in the Région Rhône -Alpes. It belongs administratively to the district Nantua and Canton Izernore.
Geography
The municipality is located in the southern Jura, around 20 kilometers east of the city of Bourg -en- Bresse. Neighboring municipalities are:
- Matafelon -Granges in the north,
- Sonthonnax -la -Montagne to the northeast and east,
- Leyssard in the southeast,
- Serrières -sur- Ain in the south,
- Hautecourt - Romanèche in the southwest,
- Cize the west and
- Corveissiat in the northwest.
Bolozon is located on the left bank of the River Ain, at the southern end of the Gorges de l' Ain. At the municipal seat of Bach Ruisseau de Sous- Bief empties into the river.
Transport links
In the northwestern municipality is a close loop of the river, on the - largely underground - a railway line runs, spanning the Viaduc de Cize - Bolozon the Ain. This railway line was modernized from 2005-2010 for the TGV services from Paris to Geneva. To the east of the viaduct closest train station Cize - Bolozon to the TER trains stop. The station consists of two tracks on a central platform, so that trains can cross.
