Bolshakovo transmitter

The radio station No. 5 Bolschakowo (Russian Радиоцентр № 5 Большаково ) is located in the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast, between the villages Bolschakowo ( United Skaisgirren, 1938-1946 Kreuzingen ) and Dessantnoje.

Description

The station was put into operation in 1975 and continued to expand until the late 1970s.

Today, it is with him to the most powerful radio stations for medium wave broadcasting in the world. He beamed at the frequency of 1386 kHz, the program of the foreign service of the Voice of Russia from, changed in the 90s to the new frequency 1215 kHz and is at its nominal power of 1200 kW one of the most prominent radio stations in the medium-wave band. The change to the new frequency was based on the legally valid assignment of the frequency 1386 kHz in Lithuania and the Convention did not achieve Russia and Lithuania to the acquisition of the old frequency by the Voice of Russia.

As a transmitting antenna 16 equipped with pots self-radiating masts with antennas Reuse, called ARRT - antennas are used. Each of these towers of the plant is 256 meters high. The nominal frequency of the system is 1215 kHz, but it is also transmitted on the frequency 1116 kHz.
