Bolus of Mendes

Bolos of Mendes (Egypt) was a Greek writer of the 3rd century BC.

He was Pythagoreans and author okkultischer miracle literature. In his work, magical ideas of the Orient mixed with Greek philosophy and thus formed the Paradoxographie that dealt with abnormal phenomena. He wrote about astrology, alchemy, drugs, sympathy and antipathy, and also on agriculture. One of his works was a forgery under the name of Democritus and was even held at a later date really a work of Democritus. He is also considered the preparer of alchemy.
