Airlines and destinations

Bolzano is, not least, served due to the short take-off and landing runway primarily by private and business aircraft. The only line connection is currently with Darwin Airline to Rome Fiumicino Airport.

Expansion plans

It is planned to equip the Bolzano airport with a larger terminal, in addition to the existing 1297 m long airstrip extended to 1405 meters and the security areas to be widened accordingly. In the South Tyrolean public an extremely controversial debate on these expansion plans arose. In the course of discussion, there was a costly mediation process, it was decided at the end that the current status is maintained. Nevertheless, the state government is sticking to its expansion plans in now reduced scale.

Others

West of the airstrip there is a military member on which an Army unit is stationed.
