Bom Jesus funicular

The Elevador do Bom Jesus ( Portuguese for funicular merciful Jesus) is a company established in 1882 water ballast train in Braga in Portugal.

The funicular without direct electric drive was built by Niklaus Riggenbach and is not only the oldest of the Iberian Peninsula, but also the oldest functioning water ballast railway in the world.
