Bompietro
Bompietro is a municipality in the province of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, with 1460 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).
Location and data
Bompietro is located 113 km southeast of Palermo. The municipality covers an area of 42.4 km ². The main occupation of the inhabitants is agriculture and sheep farming.
The neighboring municipalities are Alimena Blufi, Calascibetta (EN), Gangi, Petralia Soprana, Resuttano (CL) and Villa Rosa ( DE).
History
The town was founded in the 17th century. In 1852 Bompietro was a separate municipality. The name of the township was until 1929 Buompietro.
