Bonanza is a municipality in the Región Autónoma del Atlántico Norte of the Central American country Nicaragua.

The town has about 15,000 inhabitants and the majority of the population are mestizos. For the economy of the community, the cultivation of bananas is very important. A second pillar is the mining industry, which has attracted many people from all over the world to dig for gold. 1996 took place the first elections of the municipal council.
