Bonaventura Berlinghieri

Bonaventura Berlinghieri ( detectable from 1228 to 1274 in Lucca), was an Italian painter.

Bonaventura Berlinghieri was the son of Berlinghiero Berlinghieri, of which he was also trained. Around 1235, he painted a St. Francis, which is located in Pescia and his only work is secured. Against 1244, he is said to have painted the private rooms of the Archbishop of Lucca with birds and ornamental motifs, of which nothing has received.

Although one can clearly see that he followed his father's style, did not understand Bonaventura implement its own individuality, so that his images of Byzantine painting are closer than his works. Nevertheless, he also set the style for the new generation of painters and influenced even, especially in Florence, senior painters, such as the Master of the Bardi Altar.

Starting from its only secured work, tried yet ascribe to him some more research works.
