Geographical location

The Bondoc Peninsula is located in the southeast of the island of Luzon in the Philippines. It covers an area of ​​2222.54 km ² in the province of Quezon and jutting out into the Sibuyan Sea, separates the bay of Tayabas from the Gulf of Ragay. West of the peninsula lies the island of Marinduque, separated from it by the Mompog Passage.

The region of the Bondoc Peninsula has 355 158 inhabitants living in 12 municipalities. These are: Agdangan, Catanauan, San Andes, Buena Vista, General Luna, Macalelon, Mulanay, Padre Burgos, Unisan, San Francisco, San Narciso, Pitogo. The region is referred to as relatively poor, several projects aimed at land reform have not been fully implemented. The topography of the peninsula is described as flachhüglige landscape. To the east of the peninsula lies the island Alibijaban and on the peninsula nature reserves Buena Vista Protected Landscape and Mulanay Watershed Forest Reserve.
