Bonhoeffer, in the notation Bonhöffer, is a family name.
Name origin and meaning
The Bonhoeffer family came from Nijmegen and was originally called van den Boenhoff (English: from Bohnenhof ). Since 1513 she lived in Schwäbisch Hall. The descendants worked first as a goldsmith, and later as doctors or pastors. The family turned 78 councilors, whose portraits are in the St. Michael's Church, several family members clad mayor.
