Bonnie Owens

Bonnie Owens ( born October 1, 1929 as Bonnie Campbell in Blanchard, Oklahoma, † April 24, 2006 in Bakersfield ) was an American country music singer.

She married the age of sixteen the then unknown Buck Owens. 1951 the couple moved to Bakersfield soon after the marriage, however, was divorced.

Bonnie had already recorded several singles, as she recorded in 1964, the duet with Merle Haggard Just Between The Two Of Us. The single was a hit and brought them both an ACM Award as the " Best Vocal Group". A year later married Merle and Bonnie. In addition to collaborating with her husband, she also produced some pretty successful solo records. In 1975, she finished her career as a singer and worked from now on only as a songwriter. 1978, the marriage was divorced with Merle Haggard.

Bonnie Owens died on 24 April 2006 at Bakersfield Hospice at the age of 76 years.
