Bontioli Reserve

The Réserve totale de Bontioli is an officially 29,500 hectares of protected area in the southwest of Burkina Faso in the province Bougouriba near the Ghanaian border.

Location

The Reserve is located about 40 kilometers south of Dano, the capital of the province Ioba.

Climate

The rainy season lasts from mid-May to October.

Flora and vegetation

About half of the protected area near the water is covered by gallery forests, plus dry forest, tree and shrub savannas.

Despite the official protection status of large areas have been modified by human. To prevail on a length of about 5 km in the protected area into agricultural land.
