Boogie Pimps

Boogie Pimps started as a musical project by the two Erfurt DJs Mark J Klak and Mirko Jacob formerly. From summer 2005 to 2006 DJ Mighty YO was part of Boogie Pimps. Since the end of 2006 was a German - Australian band from the Boogie Pimps. Jon Henderson of Sydney has since become part of the group led by Mark J Klak.

The collaboration began in 1999 when Mark J Klak at Antenne Thüringen met with Mirko, who there had his own radio show " Club ". They understood each other right away, and Mark Mirko invited to be in his own club Joue Joue one. The Boogie Pimps were born after even the name Disco Bitches up for debate.

In autumn 2002, Boogie Pimps released after a long tinkering in the studio their first joint plate, formerly a private pressing. The name was Salt Shaker. The original was from Jefferson Airplane. This promotion was so successful that the German record label Superstar Recordings took notice of them and took them under contract. Later, in 2003, the plate was then not more Salt Shaker, but Somebody to love. With this hit they reached the beginning of 2004 the top ten of the UK and Australian charts.

Their second single, Sunny is a cover version. The original is by Bobby Hebb.

Appeared in 2004 on a limited white label available under the pseudonym " Pimps Guerilla " a cover of "Right out of here " or " Make ' em Drop". While " Make ' em Drop " made it on some compilations, is "Right out of here " with the exception of the white labels are not commercially available. This could be due to legal reasons, extracts text and melody is used by the end of the Queen song Bohemian Rhapsody.

Beginning of 2008 changed the Boogie Pimps of Super Star Records to Kontor Records to Hamburg.
