Bookeen

Bookeen is a French provider of e -books and e - book readers, based in Paris, France.

History

Bookeen was founded in 2003 by two former engineers of the company Cytale which the first European company offering an e-book, post-bankruptcy on the basis of acquired rights and patents. Among the acquired products and the e -book reader Cybook Gen1 belonged.

Cybook Gen3

Original manufacturer of the Cybook Gen3 ( successor to the Gen1 ) in 2007 was the Taiwan-based company Netronix Inc., which sells these readers under the names EB -100 and EB -600 to various intermediaries such as Bookeen. Bookeen and other companies, these devices then provided with their name and their own firmware and sell them on.
