Booker T. Washington National Monument

The Booker T. Washington National Monument is a former tobacco farm near the town of Hardy (Franklin County) in the U.S. state of Virginia. On it the educator and Schwarzenrechtler Booker T. Washington was born a slave in 1856. On the occasion of his 100th birthday, the area was declared in 1956 a memorial to the type of a National Monument.
