History

The office was formed as the district of Rickling after the annexation of Schleswig-Holstein by Prussia from the communities Rickling ( with Daldorf ) and Fehrenbötel.

After dissolution of the magisterial districts of the Office Rickling from the two municipalities of the former administrative district and the community Heidmühlen was formed on June 1, 1948. However Heidmühlen already retired on December 1, 1948 at his own request again. Heidmühlen then formed with the neighboring community Großenaspe the Office Großenaspe. On April 1, 1953 Daldorf was - as already before 1937 - an independent municipality. To January 1, 1970 Fehrenbötel was incorporated at his own request after Rickling.

On April 1, 1970, the Office Großenaspe was dissolved and the community Heidmühlen came back to the office Rickling. With the incorporation into the city of Neumünster Gadeland resigned from the office Boostedt on April 26, 1970. On January 1, 1971, the Office Boostedt was dissolved. Boostedt was municipality and and until then the Office Boostedt communities belonging to Great sorrow field and Latendorf came to office Rickling.

On 1 January 2008 the municipality Boostedt joined the Office Rickling. The Office renamed itself after joining office Boostedt - Rickling, the seat was moved to Boostedt.
