Bootsplash

When the boot screen is called in computer jargon a graphical display of the boot process during loading an operating system. A boot screen can display the boot issues on a console or even a graphic. Most of the boot screen takes on a full screen.

Purpose

A boot screen is used to inform the user about the status of the loaded operating system. It can for example show error during the boot process. Furthermore, the user is a reaction of the operating system displayed before the graphical functions are loaded.

Windows Boot Screen

All versions of the operating system Microsoft Windows have a boot prompt. Windows 1.0 to 3.11 were displayed as a boot screen a non-animated graphics. With Windows 95, the first animated Windows boot screen was published, the version, as well as the Microsoft Internet Explorer logo, was displayed.

In newer versions of Windows, it is possible to customize the boot screen by certain additional programs. In Windows Vista it became possible, the normal boot screen against a " Aurora " version (which only slight graphical animations has ) to replace.
