Borgdorf-Seedorf

Borgdorf- Seedorf is a municipality on Borgsdorfer lake in Westensee Nature Park in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

Borgdorf- Seedorf is located about 14 km southwest of Rendsburg and is on the 205 highway to reach the Federal Highway 7 and the railway line from Rendsburg to Neumünster well. Besides Borgdorf and Seedorf, there is also the hamlet of Spring fronds.

History

Numerous burial mounds suggests that the municipality has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. From the Iron Age urn field is obtained.

Borg village was first mentioned in 1320 as Borctorpe, Seedorf 1361 as Sedorp. Borgdorf is probably after a fortification of Saxony against the Slavs, which was probably built in the 9th or 10th century, named. From this fortification hardly any traces have been preserved, but it is the Wittorfer castle in Neumünster or the Margaret Hill in Einfeld similar.

The municipality Borgdorf- Seedorf was formed in 1867.

Policy

Of the nine seats in the municipal council has the Wählergemeinschaft IBS since the municipal election 2013, all seats.

Blazon: " Argent, a floating, inflated from a crenellated wall with three towers built, the average existing red castle on a green Bronze Age razor with the spiral handle on the bottom left. In the blue Wellenschildfuß a silver fish. The razor is (apparently ) decorated with a representation of Thor's battle with the Midgard Serpent. "

Economy

The community is predominantly agricultural, but tourism ( camping and swimming baths ) is an important source of income.
