Borgo, Haute-Corse

Borgo ( Corsican: U Borgu ) is a commune with 7742 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in Corsica. It is the capital of the canton of the same name, which includes three other communities.

Geography

The core of the small about 20 km south of Bastia town is on a hill on the outskirts of the Corsican Mountains.

Neighboring municipalities are: to the north Biguglia, in the south Lucciana, in the northwest and southwest Rutali Prunelli- di - Casacconi. In the east the district municipality borders the Tyrrhenian Sea. The Strandsee Etang de Biguglia is surrounded by the natural park Réserve naturelle de l' Etang de Biguglia.
