Boris Godunov

Boris Fyodorovich Godunov (Russian Борис Фёдорович Годунов; * 1552; .. † 13 Apriljul / April 23 1605greg in Moscow) was regent of Russia from 1584 to 1598 for the mentally retarded Tsar Feodor I and 1598-1605 Tsar and Grand Duke of Russia.

The tragic life of Boris Godunov processed the national poet Alexander Pushkin in a same drama. Modest Mussorgsky wrote to his subjects, the opera Boris Godunov. Sergei Bondarchuk filmed the drama in 1986. His adaptation was in competition at the International Film Festival of Cannes 1986.
