Boris Hambourg

Boris Hambourg (* December 27 1884jul / January 8 1885greg in Voronezh, Russia, .. † November 24, 1954 in Toronto, Canada) was a Russian cellist.

Life

Boris Hambourg was the son of Professor Mikhail Hambourg ( 1855-1916 ). From 1898 to 1903 he studied at the Hoch Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main. Hambourg took over after his father's death the Conservatory in Toronto, Canada, founded in 1913 for this music. He was the co-founder of the Hart House String Quartet, the cellist he was.

Boris Hambourg was the brother of Mark, Jan and Clement Hambourg.
