Boris Khmelnitsky

Boris Alexeyevich Khmelnitsky (Russian Борис Алексеевич Хмельницкий, scientific transliteration Boris Alexeevič Hmelnickij; * June 27, 1940 in Ussurijsk, † February 16, 2008 in Moscow) was a Russian theater and film actor. He worked for many years at the Moscow Taganka Theatre. In the cinema, he was known for numerous leading roles in adventure films such as Robin Hood, Ivanhoe, Prince Igor, The Children of Captain Grant and many others. The last film in which he participated was the 2008 film shot Taras Bulba by Vladimir Bortko. Boris Khmelnitsky was honored with the title of People's Artist of the USSR.

Boris Khmelnitsky died on 16 February 2008 of heart disease. He is buried at the cemetery Kunzewoer in Moscow.
